These programmes are resourced through the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) which is co-funded by the Irish Government, through the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, and the European Social Fund Plus under the Employment, Inclusion, Skills and Training (EIST) Programme 2021 -2027. www.eufunds.ie

If you are unemployed, under-employed, low income, or meet certain other criteria, we run regular training courses and workshops to help you:

  • explore all your options such as further education and training, or suitable areas of work;
  • upskill to increase your chances of getting a job (such as Safe Pass, Manual Handling or Barista Skills); and
  • prepare to get a job - for example our CV preparation, job search and interview preparation workshops.

The Safe Pass Programme

safe pass

This is a one-day Safety Awareness training programme aimed at all construction site personnel, including new entrants, to ensure that they have a basic knowledge of health and safety. Participants are issued with a Safe Pass card by Solas following successful completion of the course. On successful completion of this training course:

  • The delegate will have an increased awareness of health and safety within the construction industry
  • This will allow the delegate to make a positive contribution to the prevention of accidents and avoidance of health hazards

Clients must meet SICAP criteria and register in advance. Call Susanne on (01) 286 8266 or email susannemartin@bnwap.ie to find out more and to register.
